MAFP and the MAFP Foundation are seeking delegates and alternate delegates to represent Michigan at the National Congress of Family Medicine Residents (NCFMR) and the National Congress of Student Members (NCSM), which will convene during the 2014 National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students on August 7-9 in Kansas City, Missouri. The MAFP Foundation will provide a $1,000 scholarship for the chosen delegates and alternate delegates and the deadline to apply is Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at 5:00 p.m.
One (1) resident delegate to the NCFMR and one (1) student delegate to the NCSM will be selected by the MAFP Foundation Board of Trustees from the applications received. The delegates will be responsible for casting Michigan’s vote in the elections for national resident and student officers and will participate in writing, debating, and voting on resolutions. Resolutions generated by the resident and student congresses are referred directly to the AAFP Congress of Delegates or referred to the AAFP Board of Directors and commissions for further development or action.
One (1) resident alternate delegate and one (1) student alternate delegate will be selected by the MAFP Foundation Board of Trustees from the applications received. The alternate delegates will share responsibilities with the delegates, making it easier to balance Congress involvement with participation in the National Conference programs and Expo Hall activities over the course of three days.
Interested residents and students should submit the Delegate and Alternate Delegate Application no later than Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. by email to email@example.com or by fax to 517.347.1289.
