Members Invited to Submit Resolutions for Consideration at 2016 MAFP Annual Meeting

Do you have a burning issue that you would like to see debated before the MAFP membership and/or taken to the American Academy of Family Physicians' (AAFP) Congress of Delegates in the fall? You are encouraged to submit a resolution to be considered during the 2016 MAFP Annual Meeting!
The Annual Meeting is the MAFP's official business meeting during which members elect new leadership, debate changes to Academy bylaws and policy, and more! This year's Annual Meeting will take place on Tuesday, July 12, 12:10 p.m.-1:30 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Bay City, during the 2016 Michigan Family Medicine Annual Conference & Expo. We are delighted to host AAFP President Wanda Filer, MD, MBA, FAAFP, who will provide an update on AAFP activities during her address to the membership at the meeting. She will also confer Michigan's new AAFP fellows.
MAFP is currently accepting resolutions from any MAFP member who is in good standing. Once received, resolutions will be reviewed and voted on at the Annual Meeting, with approval requiring a majority vote. All approved resolutions of consequence to policies at the national level will be sent to the AAFP for consideration at the 2016 AAFP Congress of Delegates taking place September 19-21 in Orlando, Florida.
If you've never written a resolution before, MAFP is here to help! Please check out this "how to" that walks you through the process, and you are also welcome to review a resolution considered last year as a sample. When you are ready to start writing, feel free to use this template.
If you have any questions, please email MAFP Director of Government Affairs Christin Nohner at cnohner@mafp.com or call 517.664.9082. Email or fax your completed resolutions by June 1 to cnohner@mafp.com or 517.347.1289. Happy writing!
