Description_newmafpcom

Welcome to MAFP’s new website! Featuring a “members-only” section, MAFP is now able to provide our over 3,400 members more resources and information than ever before. Easy navigation gives you access to the latest news and announcements, advocacy issues, continuing medical education (CME) opportunities, physician resources on a variety of topics, MAFP Foundation updates, and more all available on any device! Take some time to look around. Please feel free to send any feedback and suggestions to MAFP as we continually make additions and revisions to provide you more of the information you need to improve the health of patients, families and communities in Michigan.

Member Login

The Member Login is available 24-hours a day, seven days a week, by selecting the blue “Login” located on the top right of the MAFP homepage. To gain full access, log in using your AAFP ID. If you do not know your AAFP ID, call the MAFP office at 517.347.0098 for assistance. Please note, the first time you log in, your password will also be your AAFP ID until you go into your Profile to create a new password.

Member Profile

Speaking of profile … one of the first items to check out after you have logged in is your Member Profile. The “Login” button will change to “Profile” when you have successfully entered the website. Select “Profile” to review your contact information, and add your areas of expertise (those specific medical areas and topics of which you are most knowledgeable), any special accessibility or dietary needs for staff to be aware of when you attend MAFP events, and your primary and secondary practice type. Once you have added information to your profile, scroll to the bottom of the page and select “Update”!

Event Registration

As a member, there are several CME opportunities and events where you can save significantly on your registration fees. To take advantage of this benefit, log in before you register. Not only will you unlock the discounted rate, but your contact information will pre-populate in the event registration form to save you time from having to re-key information.

Navigating the Website

The new main navigation includes:

  • About Us
Learn more about your Academy, including its leadership and information on MAFP Component Chapters. If you currently serve on the Board of Directors or a committee, you’ll have access to online groups to get the latest announcements and meeting materials.
  • Membership
Discover resources, tools, scholarship and recognition opportunities, and more for physician, resident, and student members. Looking for practice management information? Want to explore Family Medicine residencies in Michigan? Need discount vaccine supplies? Want to nominate a colleague for Family Physician of the Year? Need to find contact information for another member? These are just a few examples of what you’ll find under Membership.
  • Advocacy
As one of the most important aspects of MAFP membership, you’ll have access to the latest legislative and regulatory issues affecting physicians, along with advocacy resources to strengthen the voice of Family Medicine in Michigan. Identify ways to get involved, download talking points for an in-district legislative meeting, or speak out by quickly and easily contacting your legislator through the Advocacy Action Center.
  • CME & Events
Stay up-to-date with your professional development by viewing upcoming events and utilizing online registration. Plus, MAFP now includes a direct link for you to report your CME to the AAFP.
  • News & Publications
Looking for a past issue of MAFP Direct or the Family Medicine Update e-newsletter? Want to share your opinion on the Family Medicine Perspectives blog? News & Publications is where it’s at!
  • MAFP Foundation
As the Academy’s philanthropic arm, the MAFP Foundation is always seeking new ways to give back to the Family Medicine community. Stay current with what’s happening at the Foundation, purchase MAFP apparel, or make a donation to the MAFP Foundation.
